Grow your involvement in Surf Life Saving

There are many ways to get involved in Surf Life Saving across Tasmania.

Whether you’re transitioning from Nippers or joining later in life, there are a wide range of roles and opportunities available. Members can build their skills, take on new responsibilities, and progress within their club or more broadly across the organisation.

Your pathway will depend on your interests, experience and availability — and can evolve over time.

Leadership opportunities

Clubs rely on a wide range of volunteer roles to operate effectively — many of which do not require water-based involvement. Members are encouraged to:

  • Try different roles and experiences

  • Build skills across multiple areas

  • Take on new challenges over time

  • Stay engaged with development opportunities

There is no fixed path — your journey in Surf Life Saving can be shaped around your interests, goals and availability.
