This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to provide first aid responses at remote or isolated sites over extended periods, until medical assistance arrives or evacuation is possible.
Surf Life Saving Tasmania delivers training and assessment under a third-party agreement with Professional and Technical Training Australia (RTO Code: 30270).
Important: Remote Area First Aid (RAFA) and Wilderness First Aid (WFA) have similar skills and knowledge bases. RAFA is grounded in the Health Training Package, while WFA is based on the Sport, Fitness, and Recreation Training Package. While both cover fundamental first aid principles, WFA includes additional content, focuses on a broader range of scenarios, and emphasizes emergency response coordination.
