The Recreational Boat and PWC training is broken into a theory and practical session (as per the Tasmanian Safe Boating Handbook), an assessment of your competence will be made through the observation of a number of manoeuvres performed on the craft and written multi choice exam. For those who have never been on a PWC the course will cover what you need to know to safely enjoy your craft.
Boat Training is run concurrently with PWC Training, unless specified that the course is Boat only.
Legislation states that to hold a PWC endorsement you are required to hold a current Recreational Boat Licence. You can obtain both licences on the one course.
For individuals aged between 12 and 16 a provisional licence can be obtained. A parent or guardian will need to be present and on the water with participants for the practical session and once you are licenced, as required by legislation.
