Wilderness First Aid

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, work in outdoor environments, or explore remote wilderness areas, being prepared for potential emergency situations is crucial. The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course addresses this need.

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to deliver immediate and long-term care to injured or suddenly ill individuals in remote locations. The comprehensive content aligns with the WFA National Skill Set (SISSS00126), ensuring a thorough understanding of wilderness first aid principles and techniques.

Practical training scenarios are a core component of the course, allowing participants to practice and apply skills in realistic wilderness situations. The training aims to develop the confidence and expertise needed to manage emergency situations and effectively coordinate emergency responses in the field.

DURATION:

  • Full Course: 5 days (including 1 night scenario) + Online theory component
  • Refresher: 2 days (including 1 night scenario) + Online theory component

Important: Refresher participants must hold a current WFA certification and be confident in Wilderness First Aid skills and processes. It is strongly recommended to complete at least 2 Full Courses before enrolling in a Refresher.
