The Community Surf Life Saving Certificate (also previously known as ASIDE) is a challenging award, which provides teachers, surf instructors and other outdoor recreation members the knowledge and skills to be able to supervise people in a dynamic open water environment.
This award is the minimum qualification for those who wish to participate in beach/water activities adhering to the Tasmanian DoE Guidelines.
The practical and theoretical sections of the award will equip candidates with the skills to supervise structured recreational activities at aquatic venues/ environments. The course focus includes student safety, surf awareness, rescue techniques, carries/ supports and CPR.

SLST offer a range of course delivery options that aim to meet the learners needs and circumstances. The Community Surf Life Saving Certificate course is currently only delivered face-to-face as a full course or update.
