The TasPorts Leadership Program aims to build a stronger and more capable life saving community, and enrich the knowledge and capabilities of the members within their roles across the Surf Life Saving Tasmania (SLST) community.
Surf Life Saving Tasmania and TasPorts are proud to support clubs through the program with Carlton Park Surf Life Saving Club (CPSLSC) as one of the 2025 recipients.
Through the funding opportunity, Carlton Park SLSC will implement a social media learning and development program for their junior members aged 16-20. The initiative will partner with a local Tasmanian social media consultancy to deliver specialised training focused on social media management, content creation and community engagement strategies.
The program will include workshops covering platform specific practices, content planning and community safety messaging protocols, equipping participants with practical skills they can apply both within the club and in the broader community.
Designed to strengthen community engagement and build up Carlton Park SLSC’s digital capability, the initiative will also empower younger members to take on active leadership roles in promoting surf lifesaving and supporting their club.
Carlton Park SLSC President Dean Harris is excited to see this program come to life and the opportunities it will create for CPSLSC young members.
“TasPorts has generously contributed the funds for us to bring the program to life. It is not a program where we would be able to prioritise funds from our club finances.” Harris said.
TasPosts and Surf Life Saving Tasmania are proud of the work that the recipients of the scholarship program are working towards, and for the important contribution they continue to make in our local Surf Life Saving communities.
