We’re calling on our members (18+) to join our growing team of trained flood rescue responders! SLST will be providing specific flood training and development opportunities in both flood and swiftwater rescue.

SLST has bee recognised as the Centre of Excellence for Flood & Swiftwater Rescue for surf life saving across Australia. The establishment of the Centre of Excellence recognises the valuable support surf life saving volunteers can provide to Emergency Services as surge capacity in flood rescue response. 

SLST provides specific flood training and development opportunities in both flood and swiftwater rescue:

• Flood Rescue responders provide support during the broadwater phases of a flooding event or inland waters, when water is flowing slowly, or has no flow.
• Swiftwater Rescue responders provide more advanced, technical rescue services in moving water.

Courses are fully subsidised by SLST. Members are responsible for their own travel expenses, if required.
