Peer Support Officers - Expressions of Interest

Tuesday 29 July 2025

Surf Life Saving Tasmania is seeking expressions of interest from members to take on the important volunteer role of Peer Support Officer (PSO). This new role forms part of SLST’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our members following critical incidents.

Peer Support Officers play a vital role in providing short-term, practical wellbeing support to members affected by critical incidents. They may be deployed by SLST or Duty Officers to assist on the ground,  attend operational debriefs, and conduct follow-up wellbeing checks (via phone) with involved members.  This support ensures members feel heard, reassured, and connected to further assistance options, such as the Volunteer Assistance Program (external volunteer support) and other support services.

Importantly, this role does not involve managing grievances, complaints, or disputes; it is purely focused  on immediate incident-related peer support.

EOIs close at 9am on 12 August 2025. Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/251868373868072
