This years inductee is to the Hall of Fame is Julian Hickey, Carlton Park SLSC

Julian has been inducted to the Surf Life Saving Tasmania Hall of Fame in recognition of outstanding accomplishments, sustained excellence and exceptional contributions to Surf Life Saving Tasmania in the areas of lifesaving, administration and surf sports.

Julian first joined the then Park Beach Surf Life Saving Club in 1974 and gained his Bronze Medallion that year.  He became an inaugural Committee member of the newly formed Carlton Park SLSC which formed after the incorporation of the Park Beach and the Hobart Carlton Surf Life Saving Clubs.

In his time at Carlton Park SLSC, Julian has held the positions of Committee Member, Club Captain, Chief Instructor and R & R Coach. Julian's commitment to the club was recognised with Life Membership of Carlton Park SLSC in 1997.

At a State level Julian has fulfilled many roles, some of which included Southern District Supervisor, State Superintendent, Director of Lifesaving, Awards Assessor, Patrol Assessor and Competition Official for a massive 41 years!   Julian was awarded Life Membership of Surf Life Saving Tasmania in 1993 and received a Long Service Award for 40 years’ service in 2018.

At a National level, Julian was awarded a World Life Saving Citation of Merit for Distinguished Service in 1993 and was a member of National Life Saving committees for a total of 13 years.
