Surf Life Saving Tasmania’s flood and swift water rescue teams are continuing to support Tasmania Police and Tasmania SES in their response efforts as widespread flooding continues to affect communities across the North and North West of the state.

Teams from the south of the state have been in the region for over 27 hours now, covering the Deloraine to Longford area. Additionally, our northern based teams have been onsite for over 20 hours based at Latrobe covering the greater Mersey area.

Currently our teams have:

Rescued 8 people

Rescued 2 dogs

Undertaken 6 direct taskings

Retrieved medical equipment

Conducting welfare checks

Assessing debris
