Junior Lifesaver Camp

What is the Junior Lifesaver Camp?

The Junior Lifesaver Camp (JLC) is a three day live in program designed to promote the pathways in Surf Life Saving.

The program is designed to provide leadership, personal development, and social opportunities for youth members aged 13–15 from across Tasmania.

Through a fun and supportive environment, participants build connections with members from other clubs, fostering unity across Surf Life Saving Tasmania. The program highlights the range of portfolios and opportunities within each: Lifesaving, Rescue Services (including Flood and Swift Water Rescue), Leadership, Surf Sports, Education, and Commercial/Community with guest speakers sharing their experiences and pathways.

Participants will take part in practical, team-based activities that develop leadership skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. The program aims to build participants’ confidence and equip them with the skills and motivation to take on leadership roles within their clubs, Surf Life Saving, and their communities.

Who is this for?

• Current financial members with an affiliated organisation (clubs & VMR)
• Members aged between 13 & 15
