Surf Life Saving Tasmania’s Drone capability allows us to assist search and rescue operations such as missing persons, drownings and floods. The drones will also help to spot rips, distressed swimmers and potential hazards in the water during beach surveillance and will be used for risk assessments and mitigation during SLST carnivals and events. We currently have 5 drone with 4 based out of SLST State Centre and 1 at Devonport Surf Life Saving Club. Rescue drones are equipped with a range of equipment and technology including, thermal imagery, speakers, lights and zoom depending on the aircraft.
Currently under development.
