With nearly 100 years of experience saving lives in and around the water, Surf Life Saving Tasmania is able to provide professional advise and trained lifeguards to assist sporting organisations, community groups and schools with water safety for a range of events including community swims, triathlons, regattas and festivals.
It’s that time of year again! The Dark Mofo Nude Solstice Swim will be returning to Long beach, Sandy Bay on the morning of 22nd June as part of the 2022 festival. Therefore, we are recruiting volunteer Lifesavers to provide the water safety for the event as in previous years. Organisers have so far based planning on opening registrations to a maximum of 2,000 participants, same as last year. The event will take place on Wednesday 22nd June 2022.
The event will take place on 22nd June 2022. Lifesavers are usually required to arrive and meet at the Southern HQ facility on Long Beach, Sandy Bay at 6.30am. Drums will be played to alert swimmers to get ready around 7.30am, and then orange flares will be let off a couple of minutes later to signal that swimmers can enter the water. Actual timings will be confirmed closer to the date.
As a thank you for giving your time, MONA kindly provide us with complementary tickets for the MONA Winter Feast! If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please indicate on your form.
Volunteers must be over 18 years of age and hold a current Bronze Medallion. At this stage, we are looking for 30 volunteers to assist on the day.
