This award enables members to support flood and swiftwater operations on land.

Flood Rescue Responder 

This award equips members to support broad water flood and recovery operations. These include wading in no-flow to slow-moving water, bank-based safety and search, and flood response. This award also supports swift water operations from land.

• Accredited Outcome (via the Articulated Credit Pathway): PUASAR001 Perform land-based swiftwater and floodwater rescue and recovery
• Operating Zone: Hot 
• Age Requirement: 18 years + 
• Course Format: Online (2 hours) + Practical (1.5 days)
• Pre-Requisites: 
  • Online Awareness Course (above)
  • Bronze Medallion, Community SRC or Fit-For-Task Assessment 
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
• Skills Maintenance:
  • Annually (6 hours practical)
  • Maintain currency in all pre-requisites 

Flood Boat Operator

This award prepares members for non-technical water rescue in broad water flood and recovery operations. It includes supporting efforts in no-flow to slow-moving water with a focus on basic safety, search, and evacuation tasks.
