Exciting opportunity to join the SLST team this Summer and make a difference in educating the Tasmanian community about water safety! Applications are now open for Community Lifeguards and Education Instructors to be part of the team to supervise and deliver programs including Beach to Bush and Ready.Set.Rescue (an ASC Sporting Schools initiative)…and more!
Opportunities exist for energetic and passionate individuals to supervise and educate Tasmanians of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. You will supervise and instruct participants (aged 6 and above) in SLST’s community and school based education programs, ensuring an understanding of key messages are delivered in an enthusiastic, professional and safe manner.
Programs are delivered across a variety of Tasmania’s aquatic environments - beaches, pools, classrooms and inland waterways - with some flexibility for Lifeguards and Instructors to work at preferred venues, shift times and days to fit in with other commitments (work, study, club duties, family, etc). Shifts are available predominantly during school hours, typically from the mid-end of October (Beach to Bush commences on 15th) through December to late March/ start of April. Weekend and regional work is also available, meaning a willingness to travel is a bonus. Lifeguards are encouraged to work in different areas across the state to further develop their lifeguarding experience.
