DESCRIPTION

This course in Emergency Asthma Management 2188Vic is designed to provide the essential skills and underpinning knowledge necessary to assist a person suffering a severe asthma attack, in the work place or home environment untill medical assistance arrives. As well as raise awareness of asthma in the community.

COURSE CONTENT

Specific Moduals relating to industry needs within four sectors;

1. Asthma and the Child in Care
2. Asthma in Schools
3. Asthma in Sport
4. Asthma in the Workplace

Asthma in the coimmunity/Triggers

Current Asthma medications Asthma delivery devices/nebulisers

Emergency Asthma Management Protocol

Asthma Emergency Kits in accordance with State legislation

PREREQUISITES

None

COURSE DURATION

3 Hours

ASSESSMENT

Demonstration of practicals skills and use of devices, scenarios and theory.

On successful completion of this course participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for Emergency Asthma Management (2188Vic).
