People are often surprised to discover Surf Life Saving is a fully accredited training organisation, offering companies, government bodies and other groups a range of professional courses as varied as the Certificate IV Training & Assessment, Public Safety and Beach Administration. But when you think about it, lifesaving and training are a perfect fit. The formal passing on of skills and wisdom is something we’ve been doing for 100 years.

The Australian Lifesaving Academy Tasmania is the business unit of Surf Life Saving Tasmania (SLST) responsible for the delivery of training and is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO number 60060).

The Academy is committed to providing quality training services. Our quality system is based on the requirements of:

• The Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs),
• The Tasmanian Vocational Education and Training Act
• The Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Act
• The Tasmanian Occupational Health and Safety Act and
• Any other relevant Commonwealth, or State Legislation or regulatory requirements for the operation of a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
