The SLST Hall of Fame permanently displays, commemorates and recognises members and teams who have achieved outstanding accomplishments and exceptional contributions to the development of surf lifesaving at both the State and National level.

The achievements are not restricted in relation to the area of their contribution but must have been inspirational in application to surf lifesaving activities.

The award is allocated in recognition of outstanding contribution made to the various facets of the Movement in the following areas of activities:

  • Lifesaving
  • Administration
  • Sport

It is was with great pleasure and honour that Stephen Godfrey, President of Surf Life Saving Tasmania, announced the 2015-16  inductees to the Surf Life Saving Tasmania Hall of Fame at the SLST Awards of Excellence on the 13th August 2016.

Harold (Binni) Wilson, BEM (Ulverstone SLSC)

In recognition of his exceptional contribution to Surf Life Saving in Tasmania particularly in the area of lifesaving.

Robert Smith, OAM (Carlton Park/Clifton Beach SLSC)

In recognition of his exceptional contribution to the development of Surf Life Saving in Tasmania particularly in the area of life saving and administration.

Carl Rector, AM (Stanley/Devonport SLSC)

In recognition of his exceptional contribution to the development of Surf Life Saving in Tasmania particularly in the area of administration.

Alexander Norton (Burnie SLSC)

In recognition of his exceptional contribution to the development of Surf Life Saving in Tasmania particularly in the area of surf sports.

The SLST Hall of Fame is displayed in the Binni Wilson Room at the Ulverstone SLSC.
